Personally, I like StrikersS to some extent. But having gone through the series, it just feels like circling the wagon in some ways and isn't really cohesive with it's plot elements.
It's good, it's entertaining, but lacks enough plot/tension/conflict/stakes to simply not be satisfying by the end of it.

The only thing that I can say of StrikerS is this, it's not Vivid... and that turns of to be a massively good thing.

Take all the problems that StirkerS had... the poor pacing, the massive amount of characters, the fact that some characters (most of the Season 1 & 2) are more or less window dressing. And make a rather boring DragonBall-like tournament arc out of the whole thing... with no real stakes aside from the fact that it get the main characters together. Add in a lot of fan-service (which to be blunt is a franchise staple, but it works against Vivid here)... and not a whole lot else.

Fan love to view Force as the worse that the franchise has to offer, I would argue that with Vivid. Force has a lot of problems, but Vivid outshine it with out badly it is put together.

I'd argue that its because Vivid is supposed to be a more, well, character-focused entry than a plot-based entry. The execution of the character development aside, if you look at all the stuff(the training holiday, the tournament, etc) that happen before the final Vivio vs Einhart fight, it certainly looked like it was setting up for Einhart to deal with the angst that was ultimately due to Claus' memories.

When it started, sure. However, that is rather quickly resolved as a plot element, and is very quickly forgotten in lue of the Vivio/Einhart teasing for the most part.

Which doesn't really help when the characters aside from Vivio (to some degree), Einhart (to some degree) and Miura (whom isn't a central focus), arn't all that interesting. And those that are... one, two episodes maximum before they move on in the tournament (unless you are Claus, Olive, William or Crozelg which has little involvement in all of that and get an arc together).
And with those three... Vivio and Einhart become rather static in characterization early in Vivid and aren't really confronted with anything that can (or will) change that. And again, Miura isn't a central character...so she more or less suffers from being a side character whom could be main but isn't treated as such.

I should state that my opinions are mostly based on the manga, since it is farther along. But if you watched the anime, there didn't miss much and all the problems that Vivid has effects both mediums (the manga more so).

I wouldn't say taking 60 over chapters to solve it is in any way 'quick'.
The mock battles with the other casts showed her muh haou problems, then the tournament showed more, which led to the first flashback at the hotel which showed things from Claus' perspective. Then they went to find the Jeremiah diary, which revealed what exactly happened between them.
That then led to more angst from Einhart, then Vivio decided to beat that angst out of her and that was chapter 60.

The execution wasn't amazing, but it certainly looked like they went for a character-focused story, there was just quite the amount of stuff happening that wasn't to do with the whole Einhart-dealing-with-her-angst plotline.

Anyway, after Einhart got the angst beaten out of her, they went to Space China to train more. Then there's a new tournament(Miura got rekt by Sieg) this time apparently its held by the TSAB and the winner gets to fight an combat instructor, so its setting up for Vivio to fight Nanoha again.

I would when most of those chapters simply degrade to the point when the only thing notable about them is how close Vivio and Einhart are over that same time frame.
I get, the franchise is know for yuri ship teasing... but normally it's not really central to over all narration. In Vivid, it literally become the only thing left to push when they are not doing anything. And there is a LOT of that.

One of Force's biggest problems happens to be the fact that it's simply top heavy with characters to explain and move the plot (as contrived as it is) forward. That and the cast that is central to it, is rather stupid... they keep falling for the same crap over and over again. And it becomes annoying at a point.

Vivid is just really, really boring. It long in places that it really shouldn't be, the character are uninteresting, the tournament moves at a glacier pace. And yeah, the character are static for the most part, the reason that the previous cast doesn't really get ruined has more to do with the fact that they are not really used and don't have something that forces them to change in any manner. It would not be much of an issue (since most of the previous cast is use as a cameo than anything else) but this also effects most new characters to cast as well.

Oh big time, one the better points in Vivid is the massive flashback arc that they have to explain Claus, Olive, William and Crozelg. Whom they all are, what they all do, and why the fuck they matter... and it so isolated from everything else that it turns out to not be as much of a hindrance.

To be honest, that is the greatest crime of the Lyrical franchise. They have quite a bit of myths (The Al Hazard affair, the rest of the Belkan empire periods) built up that goes nowhere... Force attempted to return to some of that, but with it's other issues, the execution was left to be sloppy as all hell, and complicates itself fast. As a result, it's hard to take seriously.
