Most SRW games featuring Combattler either have no plot or just focus on the second half of the show. The odd thing is SRW gives Kerot weapons that can actually hurt things, compared to the useless arsenal in the show.

At least they're less pointless than the comic relief characters that show up later on in the first Getter show.

Puru is definitely using her Qubeley. I maxed out its mobility and the Funnels as soon as I got it and it became my most reliable unit (alongside Roux in the Nu, but Puru is slightly better because she's Newtype lvl 9 while Roux is capped at 7). I can swap Puru for Puru 2 and it would be basically the same, though. The only advantage Puru has is that she can cast Luck to make money with the map Funnels, but I have so much money and it's so late in the game that it won't make a difference.
I don't really have anything great to put the other one in, though. The best MS I have that I'm not currently using is the Vigna Ghina with no upgrades. I'm gonna have the Neue Ziel in like the next stage, so that's something. But Amuro will get auto-deployed in the Nu for most of the CCA stages, so I won't be able to use it until the finale pretty much. Sure would be nice to have that MP Nu right about now, but it's exclusive to the other route.
I will get a Geymalk with Chara Soon... soon, but I want to use it with her in it. I can also get a Jagd Doga by recruiting Quess, which I wasn't gonna bother with because it's literally just for the final stage, but now thinking about it, I might get it just so I can deploy all my good Newtypes in Funnel unit for the finale. And I guess Roux will just have to sit the CCA stages out.
I'm probably just gonna cave and finally bench Fa once and for all, giving the Apsalus to Puru. Fuck Fa and her NT capped at level 4. It's not like I can even see her miniskirt in this game anyway.

Don't do 2, there are barely any girls there. I recently played it and most you had were maybe two-three girls top at the same time. Most of them come and go over time. Maybe 3 could work better since it increases the cast by a lot. Okay, looks like I just stumbled upon some shitty programming. This is the final route split of the game. Half the team goes to the Muge Dimension while the other half stays on Earth to begin fighting Char. I chose to stay on Earth because it's the route that has most of the female pilots.
Now here's the thing. The Mazinger and Grendizer crews went to the Muge route, but Tetsuya and Jun stayed in the Earth route, so I was gonna put Jun in Great Mazinger to use her in the next stage... only to find that I suddenly don't have Great Mazinger, or Venus A for that matter. I only have the Spazers and Minerva X. Because I had Maria assigned to Great Mazinger and Kirika assigned to Venus, and they went to the other route, apparently the game just took them with whatever units they were in.

Well if you want to solo the game with just Fa, you can try SRW2. I assume you wanted to play the Complete Box version and not the original, since the original had even less girls. It's a fun experience if you play it normally. I've only played the NES version, so it was nice seeing the roots of SRW. The Complete Box uses the F engine if I'm not mistaken, so it plays quite differently from the NES version.
