I don't think people tend to be happy when games crash taking away 30 minutes of progress, especially since Demonbane is one of the more niche parts of the series list so your average player will probably not get the reference.

I just want them to change some of the ancient OGs sprites. Not a redraw, just a straight up new sprite for units that desperately need or at least significant choreography changes in some units.

1's ok, but it's very, very Winkysoft, so if you hate Winkysoft you're not going to like it.

Compact Color is Compact 1 except more difficult, also it "gives" you support and makes you unable to do anything with it so you'll be unable to stop things from supporting.

I haven't tried Compact 2, but I've heard it has even more fucking Einst than Impact and that it has a bizarre way of being difficult (ENTIRE TEAM IS FORCE DEPLOYS), and you need to beat it in a turn limit across three games to get the true final stages.

C3 is fun in that you can make a one man solo army and ignore all the glaring design flaws, much like K. Unlike K, your main OG is a Shura and is great instead of Mist fucking Rex, so maybe a point in its favor. Trying to play it like normal is an exercise in "I NEVER HAVE ENOUGH PP TO DO ANYTHING" though. (Before you say "well at least there's NG+", oh you sweet summer child.)

Anyway:

-None of the R-series are getting redrawn sprites. There's no point where most people are just going to insta-combine them into the SRX and the AR-series is getting dangerously close.

They've still been using the same outdated sprites for a very long time, so they desperately need that redraw more than most units. I also don't think we're getting Alpha 3 anytime soon, so they have nothing to lose.

Thought: What if they give us the AR-1 in MD? The R-1 has traditionally had the least problems among the SRX units and gets rolled out first, and it gets the most variations. It would make sense for them to concentrate on getting the AR-1 out over the AR-2 and 3, and it would make a nice "hey, Banpreios is coming soon" bit from Banpresto.

I'm hoping we get the whole AR series a bit early. But they can't combine yet, because AR-2 hasn't gotten the Tronium from R2P, and because the combination stuff isn't quite ready yet - so for Ryusei, Rai, and Aya (we're assuming AR-3 isn't made two pilot until Alpha 3 plot in this case) you have the choice between three pretty damn good units, and one really overpowered as shit unit.

Then, of course, SRX gets three of its limbs hacked off and most of the R3 portion destroyed so you have to switch anyway, but that's Alpha 3 stuff.

If they have the AR-2 working there's no reason to not just grab the Tronium out of the regular R-2 and use that. It would be kind of odd to finally make the stable version that doesn't need to have a genius babysit the engine constantly and not switch everyone over when they can.

Permanent, as in most modern SRWs that use Skill Parts (all the post J ones I think? Except maybe XO, since GC's were like J. I know W, AP, K, L, UX, and BX were permanent.). That said, on NG+ you get the option to unequip all of them and reapply them, which might be useful.

The Partner System becomes a thing you can get in the late single digits, MAYBE early double digits? I think there's a stage before it you can access it that your units come partnered up. Then the Tactician System comes a few stages later, at like 14 or so when you arrive in Arst the first time. Your first stage autosets the tactician is Knight Alex, probably a minor reference to UX making the first tactician the only one you'd ever need outside of secrets.

Quattro is a legitimately great pilot, on top of being a Newtype he has amazing stats. Loran only beats him in Defense (actually more useful than you might think if you do what isn't normally recommended and give Turn A a little Armor, since it has good HP Regen and a Shield and you can give it an Overman/Double Spazer sidekick) and SP.

Quattro's Leader Bonus helps squadmates, which is kind of bad for Turn A because it uses a lot of ALLs and its really powerful TRI (Seriously, 4000 base!). He gets Hot Blood. Loran's leader bonus gives him more Will, and he gets Drive and Soul, which means first turn GEKKOUCHOU and eventual boss splatter, and he's actually able to do that because he starts with SP Regen. He wastes a spot on Mercy, but a Char in that position isn't using Accel since you don't want your valuable leader SP being used on Accel so that's wasted, and it's sort of the same for Break/Fury/whatever that spirit's officially called.

Also I totally forgot Amuro doesn't get Soul in Z. Again. So the only people in UC who do are Loran and Kamille, and Kamille is better in the strongest Newtype machines to maximize efficiency in terms of power (probably Zeta, but you could do Nu I guess, it's 600 base weaker though.).


This is about efficiency though. Z isn't so overhard that you need to maximize that, you could do something silly like run Katz Turn A if you really wanted to for some ungodly reason.

For anyone that still cares, the SRC MIDI hunt still continues. Can cross off Dunbine, Gundam X and Victory Gundam had to settle on Winners Forever but I don't think people would mind because it's great anyway and came so unbearably close to a treasure trove that apparently violated some of googles terms of service and was canceled. Besides, Minstrel Song was an anomaly in the sense that the first Romancing SaGa was super obsolete and pretty much needed a complete overhaul to be interesting nowadays, same thing that happened with SaGa 3 on the DS being completely different from the original mechanically, Romancing SaGa 2 doesn't really have that problem since it is effectively the first "modern" SaGa, so it's still pretty good even with its normal mechanics and by the virtue of being the most sandboxy and non linear game in the series.

So, MAYBE it will happen, but considering this remaster came out it's not going to happen soon, it's more likely that RomaSaGa 3 or SaGa Frontier get the MS treatment at this point, unless Kawazu manages to make it happen somehow, which is unlikely.

The fact that they've remade RomaSaGa 2 and that now Kawazu says he wants to remake 3 means Frontier is going to get one as well, it's one of the most popular RPGs in Japan and I believe the 15th best PS game there or something. the 25th anniversary was bound to have Romancing SaGa 2 take the spotlight, there were too many signs in Emperors and Imperial that hinted it, if 3 is next you can bet your ass Frontier will get a remake with hopefully all the cut content, especially Fuse as MC.
