I dislike how slow it is, since they really want to drag on Badam forever, but I don't see how it's "edgy" compared to Showa series.

They can show battle damage better than the actual tv shows, but aside from that it's really not darker than usual.

Everything under 50 is just you unlocking stuff for them, usually forms or certain things specific to that Rider. Kuuga unlocks his Rising forms, Blade starts to have stuff cost less to use(Jack costs 5000 instead of 10000 for example), Agito unlocks Burning, Ryuki unlocks his Sword card and I remember him getting one more thing, etc. Once you hit 50 you get a final form figure, unless something's changed from 2. I think it was around 30 where you stop getting stuff outside of very specific Riders.

L3 just causes you to sprint immediately, R3 resets the camera. Changing forms only happens with L1 or R1, can't remember(Normal changes like for OOO or Den-O) or Hyper(R2). Kuuga is the only exception to this, he'll automatically upgrade to Rising forms once you do enough damage.

The only other way to waste energy is to do the Rider Rush thing(X+Square) that cancels any attacks you're stuck in for a bit of your bar or to go Hyper.

I just tested it with an episode of Zyuohger, and it took about 10 seconds. Note that you will lose any fancy typesetting on the subtitles. If you want a hardsubbed file, the only solution is reencoding the video.

Aside from having motivations that don't make sense even after his arc, he just isn't very likeable as a character. His smugness comes off as obnoxious compared to Tsukasa's. Again, I like the equipment, not the user.

Zodiarts were incredibly underused. They had a really fun gimmick but they dicked around most of the show. The horoscopes eventually turned into joke monster of the week. Show really would have benefited from being an early Heisei show. So it didn't have to do the stupid 2 episode plot format and had a more overarching plot. That way the Zodiarts could appear more naturally and the Horoscopes could be an actually group. The setting being stuck in a high school fucked it up too. Everything had to revolve around one small place not giving the plot room to grow.

Most of the complaints for Kuuga are how slow it is, but I kinda like it that way. It showed the burden of being a hero on Godai as well as everyone around him. I also really like how it takes its time to show him getting more used to his powers rather than knowing how to rider kick or henshin off the bat. I think it would've been kinda rushed had there been more than one rider. The only thing I really disliked about Kuuga was how Godai was a bit of a mary sue personality wise and those atrocious flashback episodes.
Then again, Kuuga was my first rider so eh

I really hope Ghost flops while Amazons is a commercial success so Toei mixes up the mainline formula completely.

Shinji, Ryotaro and Wataru are from that same meek and kind-hearted stock, but they all had "man-up and get the job done" moments. Kouta never really took the initiative on his own, and felt like a slave to the plot (and Sagara) to the very end.

Well, they were simpler so by comparison they seem to not have them. But it's a series aimed at kids, and one of the main focuses was a guy drives a bike so fast the turbine in his belt spins like mad to transform.

So I'd say it's fairly expected what that's lead to today.
