Fafner is written by people that geniunely want to tell a story and have varied characters. Not be something developed by commite and handed off to people that could give a shit to sell robot toys and waifu crap.

The downside being it takes years to get new stuff out because it's not a studio priority since it doesn't make them as much money.

I am confident Xebec is fearful enough of killing the good thing they have going on in Fafner that they put a lot of money into making sure people are all on the same page and no one does something dumb without approval first.
