Why do some Zentradi have blue or purple skin while others don't? Do the ones with exotic skin colors keep them when they get miclonized?

...are there any black Zentradi? I can't remember seeing one.

I think that was the blue or purple skin is for them. Truth be told, I'm wondering if that's more efficient for absorbing UV (or cosmic rays or someshit in space) compared to human melanin being "brown".
