So I couldn't help noticing that this guy was conspicuously absent after Ein knocked the car upside-down. They didn't show his seat being empty, they just didn't show him at all.

So I'm thinking one of two things is going to happen here:
1. While everybody is dying in the process of bringing down Ein, he slipped off quietly to run to the Parliament house to get elected.
2. He's dead and Kudelia gets elected instead.

PLACE YOUR BETS
>>
>>14025339
We saw him at the Parliament in the trailer for next episode.

Also, according to the official site he left office to enter exile because of a bribery scandal.
>>
>>14025339
3. They let him out en route, letting the convoy act as a decoy, while he casually reaches the parliament on foot.

Orga is crafty like that.
>>
>>14025378
Damn, I didn't see that.
I quit watching the next episode trailers after
GARMA'S FATE....WHO WILL SURVIVE?
>>
>>14025339
How about
4. He gets elected and betrays everyone
It would be a good ending in my book
>>
>>14025378
So he really is just a criminal.

How the does he plan to get elected?
>>
>>14025339

Casting my lot for #2. Kudelia will make Mars great again.

5. Gets elected, pulls off a mask and reveals that he was Danji all along.

That's right. They were pulling a long con that started with him faking his own death, traveling to earth and assuming the former prime minister's identity.
>>
>>14025548
>How the does he plan to get elected?
> Arrive at Edmonton with a bunch of childsoldiers he blackmailed into helping him.
> Cause a battle to take place outside of the city for three days.
> Have Kudelia vouch for him.
> Somehow gets elected because people still love him somehow.
>>
>>14025548
Considering that its a scandal, chances are its probably false and his rivals are trying to savotage him.

His confidence in getting voted in again says a lot.
>>
>>14025672
All we have seen him do are self-serving controversial things.

Even if he was innocent wouldn't he have to prove it first or does he just plan to pardon himself after he gets elected.
>>
>>14025586
I'd imagine there are plenty of people willing to elect him, even just to spite Gjallerhorn (the ones starting the battle and the ones interfering with their sovereignty). However >>14025713 is right, he's been pretty controversial in terms of public morals. Would be great to elect him just to have him turn out to be a huge dick.
>>
>>14025339
>2. He's dead and Kudelia gets elected instead.
>clearly shows him in preview of next episode
>is dead
>>
>>14025532
I am honestly sort of expecting this. You can't really end season 1 with all the ends perfectly tied up, and expect to resume with conflict at the start of season 2.

Besides, he already showed willingness to betray Tekkadan when they were negotiating the terms of escorting him to Edmonton. It would not be out of place in the setting for him to double-cross them after the fact, after he secures the prime ministership.
>>
>>14025727
>I'd imagine there are plenty of people willing to elect him, even just to spite Gjallerhorn (the ones starting the battle and the ones interfering with their sovereignty).

I honestly have no clue how the relationship between Gjallarhorn and the economic blocs works out.

I don't think most nations would allow a bunch of mercenaries to camp outside their city during an election, but I don't see any reference to the locals having any ability to defend themselves.

In this case I don't think Gjallarhorn started the battle or is even wrong.

> Gjallarhorn sets up a false flag operation with the Dort workers.
> Workers obtain smuggled weapons and shoot at Gjallarhorn soldiers trying to arrest them.
> Workers then go on to threaten violence if they don't get what they want. At this point, they are terrorists.
> Gjallarhorn fakes an attack on their building, begins mopping up the workers.
> Tekkadan fights Gjallarhorn.

Then
> Kudelia goes on TV.
> Says these workers didn't attack anyone and were peacefully protesting.
> She doesn't know they attacked the soldiers in the port, which Gjallarhorn no doubt has evidence of.
> Not to mention she's on the ship that brought the smuggled weapons.
> She plays chicken, allowing Tekkadan to get away because Gjallarhorn wouldn't kill her on live TV.
> Now the workers have equal rights because of her somehow.

She's either amazing or bullshit. Take your pick.

She is retarded and gets lucky via peace princess magic.
>>
>>14026641
She still doesn't realize that she's simply a means to an end.
A convenient lie and tool used by those in power to manipulate events in such a way that the people can believe whatever stupid bullshity they are being talked into doing is right.

Think the dorf thing was actually settled? No, they lost specacularly. The news reports and lies circulating from there are a response to her outing gjarllhorn on national media.

She's powerful, her face and voice holds sway with the downtrodden and broken populace. And that was only cemented with the dorf incident.

She is the carrot called hope and they are leading the people around by the nose. Tekkadan are just convenience. A way to put up a meaningless fight and make her seem like more of a princess.

A weaponized meme known as hope and good in a corrupt world that is tied together by instant communication and lies something like her is the most potent weapon there is.

The real problem is keeping her beautiful naive eyes clear and heart spotless. Thereby making her a perfect pr tool.

Why do you think gjarllhorn hasn't simply sent in the troops and wiped out tekkadan and peace princess? Why give those orders when they were more then willing to massacre a cities worth of people with a false flag operation.
>>
>>14026658
>Why give those orders when they were more then willing to massacre a cities worth of people with a false flag operation.

That wasn't a cities population it was a union of dock workers, who had already opened fire upon them when they told them to surrender earlier.
>>
>>14025339
When you're that old you learn what's important in life, what really matters.

Caught in the middle of giant robot fight?

Crank down.
>>
>>14026680
They helped engineer the entire fucking situation and instead of sending in an emp and using tear gas and rubber bullets by the ton they set up a smoke screen, created a false escalation that the stupid union workers bought into and starte massacering anyone ANYONE on the street.

Where I'm from a few hundred people getting shot is a lot. Not a million strong or anything, but it's a good chunk of many small towns.
And they would have escalated that event even further and started a full out small scale war if it meant getting them under control.

That's not even mentioning the "insurgent terrorists" they'd take down and make an example of.
>>
>>14025771
From what I can tell it's similar to how the state vs federal power in the US is supposed to work. Gjallarhorn has a lot of global power, but are not supposed to interfere with matters of government within the blocs. Stuff like laws, elections, taxes, etc.

That's why what they are doing now is a matter of corruption. They are actively interfering with the elections by chasing the popular candidate into exile and preventing him from taking part in order to plant a puppet in his place.

As for the bribery scandal, what they probably did was spread rumors of a bribe. At worst there would just be an investigation. Just rumors and some bad press is not enough to ban him from office or arrest him. By the sound of it he was just laying low until rumors died down, not actively avoiding a trial.
>>
>>14025548

>>
>>14026692
>instead of sending in an emp and using tear gas and rubber bullets
What if they didn't have an emp and chemical warfare and firing off an emp inside a colony sounds like a bad idea.

Also shooting rubber bullets when the other side has real ones is retarded.

>Not a million strong or anything, but it's a good chunk of many small towns.

You said city earlier.
>>
>>14026695
Also, child brides. dont forget child brides.
>>
>>14026122
A major part of the driving force behind this was that the companies were outright refusing to even meet with the Union, much less negotiate terms. Kudelia's broadcast and the events of the riots drew a lot of negative attention to the union and companies so the companies buckled and agreed to meet and negotiate. It's really that simple.

Negative attention like worker mistreatment is not good for profits.
>>
>>14026703
Giving them real bullets to fake a war instead of strong arming the unions with mafia and bribes is stupid.
Rubber bullets and tear gas on people who don't have armor or proper weapons and bullets on the gun toting union members and people in workers.
They didn't do that. They faked an escalation with a bomb and fake gunshot sounds put up a smoke screen and started massacaring people left and right.

Cities aren't all new york and san fran(thank god) they come in different sizes. I'm saying that killing hundreds of people in a false flag op is something they are more then willing to do, so why not send in gj to kill tekkadan, peace princess and oldmanorga then say tekkadan or evil insurgents/people who bribed oldmanorga did it.

Why go through all of this bullshit?
>>
>>14026719
>Giving them real bullets to fake a war instead of strong arming the unions with mafia and bribes is stupid.
yes.

>Rubber bullets and tear gas on people who don't have armor or proper weapons and bullets on the gun toting union members and people in workers.
They had assault rifles and tanks.

>They didn't do that. They faked an escalation with a bomb and fake gunshot sounds put up a smoke screen and started massacaring people left and right.
First firefight took place in the hangar after they were told to surrender. After that point it wasn't peaceful.

Cities are defined by having a large population. Number of people in the street wasn't that great.
>>
>>14025586

He'd be boned, but Ein jumping over the line is a godsend for Makanai.
>>
>>14026719
Not him, but internal politics by the look of it. Carta used her family influence to chase them to the island they were on and while her forces were inexperienced she greatly outnumbered them and with a force of that size she should have won. Then when she failed old man Fareed was prepping to send a real force after them when McGillis convinced him to give Carta another chance. Then after Carta died they did send in a real force which Tekkadan has been struggling against for 3 days and only hasn't lost because of the fact that they are on the border of a city so Gjallarhorn can't attack with MS from the front.
>>
>>14026726
>yes.
Then we're agreed.

>They had assault rifles and tanks.
They had a few tanks which were easily outclassed and some assualt rifles which they gave them. And not even half of the union members had them.
Shoot the unarmored union members with rubber bullets, and take out the ones in tanks and with guns with live rounds.
Not fake a battle then open fire on fucking everyone.

>First firefight took place in the hangar after they were told to surrender. After that point it wasn't peaceful.
First firefight was obviously forced. They sent the antagonistic asshole soldiers in their employ in there KNOWING the union hotheads were now armed and were all looking for a fight. PLUS they had tekkadan and THE MAIDEN OF PEACE on their side.
They started shooting and fighting back.
It was entirely contrived and set up and you'd have to be blind to not see it.

>Cities are defined by having a large population. Number of people in the street wasn't that great.
Nope.
Dodge city was founded with less then 1000 people.
Secondly, they were more then wiling to wipe out hundreds and wound twice that many in a shock and awe campaign DESIGNED to put them back in fucking line.
>>
>>14026695
>From what I can tell it's similar to how the state vs federal power in the US is supposed to work. Gjallarhorn has a lot of global power, but are not supposed to interfere with matters of government within the blocs. Stuff like laws, elections, taxes, etc.

Gjallarhorn really doesn't seem to have any powers to exercise though.

>That's why what they are doing now is a matter of corruption. They are actively interfering with the elections by chasing the popular candidate into exile and preventing him from taking part in order to plant a puppet in his place.

What if he was actually guilty? Also shouldn't they stop someone from entering a city with military force?

>As for the bribery scandal, what they probably did was spread rumors of a bribe. At worst there would just be an investigation. Just rumors and some bad press is not enough to ban him from office or arrest him. By the sound of it he was just laying low until rumors died down, not actively avoiding a trial.

He was in a political office there would have to have been an investigation.

That sounds incredibly difficult.

>First firefight was obviously forced. They sent the antagonistic asshole soldiers in their employ in there KNOWING the union hotheads were now armed and were all looking for a fight. PLUS they had tekkadan and THE MAIDEN OF PEACE on their side.
First firefight wasn't necessary for later events and wasn't mentioned by Gjallarhorn. It served no purpose for them.
>>
>>14026726
>They had assault rifles and tanks.
Did they even fire either? I think some shot into the air or randomly but as long as your guys have good protection it wouldn't be an issue, there was no real resistance once the gas was thrown

>First firefight took place in the hangar after they were told to surrender
This was just a horrible plan and not how please would act. You don't rush into the middle of people with guns. You don't let someone who dropped a gun pick it back up and shoot you. That whole situation was contrived

Rumors are not enough to declare a full investigation or arrest in most first world countries. There has to be some form of evidence or justified cause.
>>
>>14026766
>That sounds incredibly difficult.
We can do that now. That is the future where they have crazy bullshit magic technology. The tech that we KNOW that we have now, like that working forcefield that was dumbfucked upon years ago, but was mysteriously wiped from the face of the net, is fairly bullshit but this is a cartoon about cyborg humans fighting in giant robots.
Look for the heat signatures of weapons and spank them, then shoot into the crowd with rubber bullets and smoke.
Instant party pooper.

>First firefight wasn't necessary for later events and wasn't mentioned by Gjallarhorn. It served no purpose for them.
GJ would be seen as a necessary evil at worst, heroes at best and they could continue on with their bullshit hero/protector of peace act.

As for it not being necessary, It had to start somewhere. Where else then the place where the weapons were delivered and the place where the space rats/kurdellia's knights and flunkies were stationed. Besides, who do you fucking think sent them there in the first place? Wasn't just a mafioso looking to fatten his pockets with illegal gunsales or...how in the fuck would he have profited anyway?

Enough were armed and Gjallerhorn wanted to put down anyone who had been hoping for rebellion. If you're in the crowd, you're likely to be someone stirring up shit that could cause problems. Union getting uppity? Get rid of the union and make sure nobody else wants to join them. Obviously what they did was overkill for a normal riot but they're living in a police state.

>>14026833
Gundam is usually only advanced in mobile suit/spaceship/colony tech, sometimes with AI. They obviously don't have the technology to do that accurately and it doesn't serve their purpose anyway.

The purpose was specifically to set up the union workers.

>>14026772
They did not fire, and although they might have eventually, the firing started in response to the fake attack on the building.

>>14026751
>They had a few tanks which were easily outclassed and some assualt rifles which they gave them.
When's the last time you saw military/police forces respond to that with rubber bullets? In real life, not a police state.
>PLUS they had tekkadan and THE MAIDEN OF PEACE on their side.
Planned on killing them or making them out to be terrorists. At that point they were just figureheads on the fringe of the colonized sphere. They hadn't done anything yet and it was a perfect chance to get rid of her at the same time.
>Nope. Dodge city was founded with less then 1000 people.
That colony holds a hell of a lot more than that. It's slummy, I'll bet the only housing are the apartments they showed where people are stacked on top of each other. Colonies are big. Easily tens, if not close to a hundred thousand (or more, even) people.

>>14027088
Akihiro wakes up and crawls out of his suit
He looks on his dashboard and notices that the gps on everyones suit save killbots' is out.

The first thing he does, he forces the mobile suit to get up and look for atra, he finds the mobile suits corps and crawls towards it, opening it up gently, hoping against hope that she's okay, he finds her, and she's horribly wounded. He pulls her out and scrambles to pull the other two from their suits.

She has a farewell speech to him about if she met him first she would love him etc etc.
He says something about first or last he'll always feel the same about her. Her eyes closes and for a moment he feels her die, he screams at her to not die you stupid bitch, don't you give up. She angrily opens her eyes and weakly slaps at his face.
He smiles after breathing a sigh of relief and holds her close. He calls the others to come pick them up before laying her next to her unconscious sister and chad.
He hops into his gundam picks up two guns before looking over at some debris, in the pile is something that looks like a huge jagged piece of metal that vaguely resembles a sword.

His goal at the start was to undermine Gjallarhorn authority. He was working with Nobliss to get Kudelia killed as a martyr for civil discontent on a level that would weaken/destroy Gjallarhorn's status as peacekeepers.
It's probably the bribe that got him sent into exile.
He didn't even remember why she wanted to meet him when she arrived. But it was a stroke of good luck for him that she did because her mercs were skilled.

Basically, yeah.
Except this time Jerid is a severed torso in Psyco Gundam.

>>14030162
the ahab reactor prevents transmissions and shut down a whole bunch of electric/electronic equipment all around

it'd have to be a camera viewing from very far away (hard to tell who the people being attacked are) or eyewitness accounts, which are kinda not exactly great sources, but still sorta usable but delayed
