How lucky a mobile trace system thread.

There are some artists that censor their stuff for posting on Pixiv, and then post the uncensored version somewhere else like Tumblr. Butcha-U does this, for example.
Even though there is plenty of uncensored stuff on Pixiv and even a tag for it, but most of it seems to be uploaded by weeaboo foreigners. So does it matter if the artist is in Japan, or if the image is hosted in Japan, or what? It's confusing.

Probably one of them. The thing is, mobile suits even in the more traditional "chair and joysticks with some buttons and a hardlight keyboard," do all sorts of small and complex maneuvers that you wouldn't expect such a relatively simple-looking system to do.

It's kind of interesting how so much can be done with so little.

Though to be honest the most advanced mecha control system is the NT-D system from Unicorn. If you don't let it control you, you basically recline in a chair and it does what you think.

But I've been led to assume the fairly simplistic control schemes are partially automated and filled in. This is part of the reason Gundam and prototype designers have such a hard on for combat data, and why they'll push pilots when they know they're not getting to 100% on-paper capability. Or have them go through risky moments for combat data. So a pedal push, which seems to be the step function, is probably based on what is detected around the MS, calibrated for smoothness and terrain comensation when the step completes.

But controls get all sorts of inconsistent portrayals. Like 0083's early trek across Australia seems to show people full still while their MS group walks rough, rocky terrain.

Well that depends.

Are the tentacles attacking the gundam? Because they would just register as pain to the pilot since they're technically destroying the mech. HOWEVER, this doesn't count as penetrating the pilot since it doesn't appear to cause any physical effect on their bodies (When a gundam loses his arms in one scene his suit just glows red where they would be, his arms don't explode).

If the tentacles are attacking the PILOT, that's a wild card. While advanced, the MTS appears to be a very thin material, and while I'm not sure if it's ever torn in a fight, it would clearly not stop any actual physical attack.
