This is basically the N'Doul fight from Stardust but with a blind man controlling blood instead of water.

Jesus, that is some of the most painfully generic dialogue I've ever read.

That one was more a case of writers and artists being told by Marvel to "make manga" and not really knowing how to, so they just copied some designs here and there, tried to use some generic concepts like "ninja" or "combining robot" and called it a day. The most obvious one was the Fantastic Four issue which was literally Evangelion, but it was clearly meant as a humorous parody.

This Jojo thing literally ripped off specific terminology, characters and the script to a detail, and it's completely serious. It's from before Jojo was well known in the west, the guy really thought he could just get away with it.

It's also from the very first episode of the original JoJo OVA which starts with the N'Dour fight. It's likely that the writer somehow got it early from Pioneer or whoever licensed it.

This comic is from 1997, I don't think the OVA was licensed in English at all until after they made the second batch of episodes in 2000. He probably watched those bootleg VHS fansubs of it, which must be why he thought nobody would notice.

That's pretty common for indie books, though. You get a writer and an artists and then the book doesn't get released very far and it flops and the artist fucks off since he's not being paid.

Especially in the 90's, before Image made indie the hottest thing ever and established writers made massive money on creator-owned series ilke Walking Dead and Saga.

Both of which are shit but top the best sellers list consistently
