Really good though the Genesis version has a glitch that makes a certain option for the main quest impossible. It's not a big deal but keep that in mind if you decide to play that version, worth checking out the manual at least for the short story.

The glitch itself is unavoidable however you can still work your way around it. It's annoying but the game is still really worth playing through.

I went through the entire game just using Fwiffo's Eluder in nearly every battle, except for the Sa Matra, where I loaded up on Pkunk Furies. The side-shot was critical for that, and the random resurrection helped with any whoopsies that occurred. It was also fun to fly around shouting insults to get my battery back.

I mean, compare how the Kohr-Ah presented themselves in 2 with any dozen or so sci-fi villain races. Few can really pull off how chilling they sounded, how much depth you could get out of them.

With SC3, you have the Eternal Ones, which could have had something interesting, but the game never really game them that chance (which might be for the best, considering how ass everything else looked in the game).

Sure it takes away the need to rush around and save everyone before the Kohr-ah murder everything, but there is a reason why the most popular FTL mod is "make the Rebel Fleet chasing me fuck off forever so I can explore leisurely"

It's good for when you've already beaten the game, and just want to chill about and explore without ruining everything.

I'm hoping Stardock's new game is decent.

The Broodhome is OP as fuck. It's probably why they made it unobtainable in the main campaign. The DOGI drone follows them around. If they get close to you, just hammer on the photo shard button repeatedly to have crazy shrapnel everywhere.

I would have liked to have talked to the Chenjesu though. They described them in th SC1 and SC2 manuals as the kindest and most patient race in the galaxy, even enough to put up humanity's violence and encourage them to be better.
