Don't know if there'll be alternate timeline shenanigans, but the scans just say that it's a power up in order to face Nova Shocker (some new division of Shocker that apparently controls the world's economy. They also have new armored grunts and are led by three new characters that supposedly are former Shocker members.

At the same time though, there's also still the standard "Shocker", with the old grunts, led by Ambassador Hell from the original series (and Vs Dai-Shocker).

It's perfect.

The size threw me off at first, but when considering Fujioka it all works so well together. It's like a wise old motorcycling bug paladin of justice. Put me down for the SHF of him, the ShF of his bike, and the Premium Bandai release of his belt.

They actually gave a shit about size for once in a long time and it is beautiful. If only they did that for the current shows. Like instead of skinny and spry Takeru turning into beefy Ghost, Ghost should match his physique (as much as I like Takaiwa as a suit actor). In fact I think Ghost's design would have worked better if it was more lithe. Like your typical Spider-man physique.

On a side note I am interesting in seeing what I think are new Combatmen auits as well. Funny how not too long ago I posed the question as to whether or not they'd get an update too. I like how their bones seem to take a little inspiration from W's maskmen, but the faces from this far away look funny.

Someone posted an excerpt from interview in the last thread saying it was designed around Fujioka's current body instead of having him turn into the stock suit actor of the more generic body type. I am sure the bigger stuntsman from that Japanese action group (or something like that) that Toei likes to take stuntsman from are happy.

Rider 3 was also conscious of this, considering how 3's actor could fit the suit well. For 4 it doesn't matter for reasons explained in his mini series.

How 2 will hypothetically look will probably be based on the same logic. How big is Takeshi Sasaki these days?

It is more about being concious of the actor's looks than it is about theme or motif. Ichimonji just has a fitting inuniverse title to go with it.

I say that is more due to budget constraints, limited talent pool, and sticking to the people who had gained experience as the franchise moved forward.

Lots of show and film productions have tried to make stuntmen and actors match if and when they could. Nothing wrong with that.

After that Rider 1 suit, I'm pretty sure my theory about Rider 2's eventual new suit being mostly red will be right.

They're being way more experimental with these than I expected, so Rider 1 taking all the green likely means Rider 2 will be mostly red.

Also, the fact that it seems to be a permanent power up, rather than a "final form" thing makes it even more likely that Rider 2 will get one too - if not in this movie then in a later one, since this is just "chapter 1" of the project.

I'm watching Wizard and I'm kinda confused. A gate is identified, usually by Medusa and they send a Phantom to go awaken it. But since Wizard always wins and sometimes doesn't go into their despair for his stupid cgi battle wouldn't that person still be a gate? Why doesn't medusa send more phantoms after identified gates that still have phantoms inside of them? Or do they stop being gates when Wizard beats the initial phantom thats after them?

Gimmick are supplied by Bandai and Plex before the actual writing starts.
Also there are writer complains about last minute change at shooting when Bandai wants to promote a certain toy or character.
It is pretty stupid to say writers also works as 1 of the producers (there are always 4 ~ 5 from Toei, with 2 extras from TV Asahi) and determine everything in production.

According to the magazine scan the two Shocker groups are rivals, the one lead by Ambassador Hell is still trying to take over the world and is staffed by previous monsters like Lizardman but Nova Shocker is running the economy as previously mentioned. They aren't friends though.

Decided to do this little thing out of curiosity. Original 1 their for further comparison (and to fill space).

Mitsuhiro Oikawa is a tiny man. It's funny how Kyoichiro Kuroi stands at equal height with Hongo if not a little taller in SHTGP, which is noticeable in that one image with 1 to 4 standing all together. He had more mass to him compared to 1 and 2 as well.

For reference, Fujioka stands at around 5'10' and Oikawa is at around 5'8.5".

the Leader was tied to the machine, so was Takumi, both were finished.

It's the one from Stronger, so it's the most famous one since it's the one from the finale of the original run of the series, but, in ZX, he was described as an evil spirit, continuing with the trend of his true nature seemingly being different every time.
