What are some good high fantasy mecha animes other than Dunbine, Escaflowne and FFS. Break Blade is kinda in that category too, but I wouldn't call it "good".

Scrapped Princess?
Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari, but it's more harem/SoL than mecha.

Anyways, this thread from a few months ago was pretty solid.

I think mechas in high fantasy setting are cool. This has nothing to do with plot, or are you perhaps mad about my opinion on break blade?
Panzer world galient
Rayearth
Ryu Knight, which I haven't watched, but heard is kinda generic. Cool mech designs even if it's true
That's all I can think of. It's a small subcategory

While formulaic, you can't go wrong with Wataru. It gets better with every installment.

>Dunbine
>good
>Break Blade
>not good
Break Blade is a hell of a lot better than Dunbine.
>>13734015
This. Dunbine should've been 20 episodes instead of 50.

For an unfinished POS that could only be continued in manga form.

>continued in manga form
Anon, it was a manga to begin with.

Even if you don't like the soap opera parts, the combat choreography and underlying strategy are pretty good. Its a more thoughtful take on the idea of "What if a new disruptively more powerful weapon were to be fielded" where it's not gundam overpowered, but it's used as a thoughtful part of fights with combined forces.

None of that helps to make good fantasy in the slightest to be fair
>>13734015
what's FFS?
also seconding Galient. it could have been much better if it didn't try as hard to push toys but it's still entertaining

I think he meant FSS, as in Nagano's Crazy Ramblings.
Does Star Wars count? It reeks of high fantasy and has mechs in it.
Solatorobo's not an anime, but it's pretty clear the developers were trying to make it feel like one.

Not /m/

How about getting better taste first

There's one airing this season >>13739344
God Mazinger

Ryu Knight has fantastic mech designs and starts really strong, but I've heard the opinion of maybe one person who DIDN'T think it burned its potential in the second half. Though, it's sometimes disagreed on what was better in that part and what was worse.
Do be warned, though, that there's one guy who always responds with it being "not /m/" when it's discussed. Ignore him if he ever shows up.
I liked Maze, but I don't know if that's just nostalgia talking.

Maze is the most 90's anime ever made. It's charming in its own, schlocky sorta way.
