For fucks sake, its was just LAST YEAR that we figured out that we were reading DNA wrong and had been ignoring literally half of the information it contained. What we knew before wasn't wrong per say, just super incomplete.

There are multiple organs of the human body we really don't understand at all, the brain and the pancreas being the most noteable. We have a rough idea of what they do, but how they do it is still a mystery.

We know a lot more than we did a hundred years ago, but we still don't know nearly enough to go dicking around with human genetics like we know what the fuck we are doing.
