Rainbow Knight seems to be mostly based on Moonlight Mask, from design to weapon to being older than the characters based on 70s heroes. Eye of Lucifer's name seems to be based on Moonlight Mask's 2nd main enemy (Claw of Satan). Rainbow Knight's name is also a reference to Rainbow Man, who had a similar design to Moonlight Mask for his main form, although the homages stop there.

Anyway, yes, design-wise and also that mention of his supposed backstories seem to be references to Kamen Riders's Great Leader. His Eye of Lucifer's real identity makes much more sense once you consider the Claw of Satan bit though, since that was just a masked super human too.

It's pretty clear that Ghost is follow Gaim's model for the main Riders' forms. The only difference is that rather than a big special Eyecon for Greatful, Ghost is getting a new belt altogether, which presumably will also be used by the final form, just like Kiwami also used Kachidoki lockseed.

Really? I liked X. Things happen in a fairly good pace, and although the last 12 or so episodes become a fetch quest, that's still a way to make sure that things happen once in a while, and that comes alongside X's upgrade and the return of V3 and Rider 2.

As far as the episodic stories go, the first batch of monsters has really great designs compared to other Showa suits, and they often had creative powers based on their original legends.

The suits in the 2nd half, with the historical villains, are worse, but it's interesting how the episodes are often entirely set up around the villain, like an episode involving Chinese locations and descendants and kung fu grunts for a Chinese villain.

V3's and Rider 2's appearances also are rather neat. X is also the show that gave V3 that daredevil personality "I miss fighting against a threat like this!" that would show up in his later actor cameos.

The jarring issue with just about any CG in Rider is, if it's 3D, it typically lacks any sort of shaders. As a result, they look like trash (See pic related).

While the Iguana Ghostriker is still shit, they use actual shaders to develop actual detail in the render, which makes it vaguely bearable. THe issue is the choice of art-style, not the quality of the model.

Don't tell me that two renders just being shown on an empty backdrop with no context matters, I'll admit >>13671734 looks better than >>13671718 but that's not how those two things are shown in the episodes. You gotta take what they are in motion and in their respective scenes into account. I think the Iguana's problem is simply the one most CGI monstrosity in Rider has, it's far more in focus than the Tridoron typically was. Adding shaders won't make a crappy piece of CGI front and center in the screen look good, but it can definitely help crappy CGI in the background or zoomed out.

I don't even hate Ghost so I don't know what gives you that idea.
