this the only thing that comes to mind right now is king gainer and his design was pretty great too.

As for my favorite LFO's that has to go to the R909 and R505 which holland uses

It's almost been 10 years, will we ever see a remake?
>>
>>13671584
I fucking hope not given how bad every E7 production after the original show itself turned out to be.
>>
>>13671608
But a remake won't change anything I hope
>>
>>13671891
Then what would be the point? It's not like E7 didn't have great animation.
>>
>>13671912
Some of the middle episodes, especially in the second half were really weak visually. The football episode was pure QUALITY.
>>
>>13671956
Maybe, but what makes you think Bones would be able to whip up more budget the second time around?
>>
>>13671968
Oh, Bones couldn't do it. Their best days are far behind them. A remake would be terrible for many, many reasons, though.

>It's almost been 10 years, will we ever see a remake?
No. No no no. Why would you want that?
Literally every Eureka related production outside the original series felt the need to steer full force into some kind of retarded forced drama to the point where I believe that the series ended the way it did because somebody on the staff had to fiercely fight for it.

Bones doesn't understand Eureka. I won't survive another asspocalypse of astral proportions.
>>
>>13672235
Well apparently the original ending of the series was gonna be what we see in that New Order special, (and I think it's similar to what is used in the manga) but Eureka "dies" for all intents and purposes.

Seriously, whomever in the staff pushed the ending we got, THANK YOU. I really didn't want to see that depressing bullshit be the real E7 ending.
>>
>>13670256
Could someone please ruin Eureka 7 for me? I've only watched it once a long time ago when I was about 15 but I remember liking it. Any time I watch really good openings for an anime, it makes me want to watch them. Should I rewatch Eureka 7 again, or should I just leave it alone.
>>
>>13672416
It's a slow burn, it's very easy to drop it like 8 episodes in and its most notable moments are around the middle. Whatever you do, don't touch the movie or the sequel.
>>
>>13672424
...actually I do recall it sometimes being uneventful. And what is it, 52 episodes? Pretty long too. I usually did sessions of 5 or more episodes at a time. I guess even back then I was impatient with it. I guess what I liked were the story and characters, but my tastes have changed a lot since then, so maybe not so much now.

What's wrong with the movie and sequal? I've obviously never watched them..
>>
>>13672416
It's 50 episodes, it a character heavy show with a coming of age story as it's focal point. Many people think Renton and the other children in the show annoying, but I think their initial likability makes Renton's growth all that more fulfilling. (and honestly he's not THAT bad) I don't mind slow moving series, and with it's episode count, E7 could really use that to it's advantage. Nothing feels rushed and it has a good natural flow, while allowing time to expand upon it's great original setting fully (which a lot of shows with expansive original settings fail to do; like Xam'd for instance)

There is a lot of comedy, pain, action and drama; but at the end of the day it's definitely a feel good anime.
>>
>>13672491
>likability

unlikability, I mean.

>>

It's basically a coherent FLCL but SUPER SRS, and it tries desperately to be darker than the audience wants it to be.
>>
>>13672572
I like dark though. Maybe I'll like it?
>>
>>13672727

I love it, was never able to get anybody else into it though.

The world becomes darker as the story progresses and the main character becomes more aware of how fucked up the world is.

I really like how Renton mature over the course of the show.

Its music is pretty sweet too.

>>13672815

You two should argue over who is right for my amusement. So is it good or is it shit?
>>
>>13673377
I'm neither of those guys, but it's very much a matter of whether or not you like the setting enough to handle some initially really unlikable characters and a section somewhere between the early teens up to the mid 20s where not much happens that can be slog to get through before you get to the best part of the show. I'd go for a few episodes and see how you like it.

Not touching the movie or the sequel (especially past episode 12 or so, before that it's weird yet inoffensive with a few cool moments but gets absolutely retarded after it) is pretty much universal opinion.
>>
>>13672416
I rewatched it a year or two ago after my initial toonami watch through. I liked it a lot and it was nice seeing how I reacted differently to the characters from my Middle school mind set and my college mind set

Surprisingly not particularly inaccurate characterization for the production leaders.

They also completely fucked up on the themes and references even if they intended to "ruin" the previous series.

I could grab my hard cover of "Blood Music" from upstairs and write E7 into a bloody red maelstrom foaming with viscera and anguish without ever once betraying tone, themes or mechanics.

If you ever want to understand how badly AO fucked up; understand they managed to write a shitty story that somehow managed to specifically and intricately break consistency physics at the quantum level.

All the dumb plots they picked, and they somehow managed purely by accident to pit the Strong Anthropic Principle (E7: Limit of Questions/Matter) against the Self-Sampling Assumption (AO:Quartz Gun/Timelinefuckery): Which are unavoidably incompatible.

I'm going to repeat that for emphasis: The show was so dumb, it managed to precisely define the physics in the show in the exacting detail to make the plots radically incompatible.

The way battles are handled visually is very reminiscent of Macross. There's a lot of the same missile spam, and the way characters dodge around the missiles reminds me of Macross. The choreography in general, really.

Mecha designs are more AC than Macross though.
>>
>>13687654

I don't know, that one seems to be the byproduct of using the Itano too. However I guess there could be similarities, a lot of the way things flowed felt different to me though seeing how the boards were used in battle
>>

Maybe it's because there aren't a lot of FAST fast air-based mecha shows, so the ones that are seem similar.
