It's a shame that SEGA won't even make a minimal effort to keep this franchise alive. Didn't the good sales of VC on Steam contribute to their making a new VC game and the VC1 remaster?

They gradually fell pretty hard after losing their console manufacturing department. Doesn't help that attempts at reviving some of them went poorly (just ask Golden Axe fans, for one).
