Ushio & Tora looked good and surprise surprise the head animator of Mappa, its studio, came from Madhouse before forming Mappa.
And in any case 3D shit isn't the way to go with characters and monsters, it's good enough for mecha because without it we get constant off-model shit like IBO, but with characters you end up with stiff monstruosities like in Sidonia and the new Blame! ova.

At least it didn't take the Nanatsu no Taizai's way, the main characters were also too powerful from the start like Saitama.
And since the author couldn't finish every battles with only one chap or even 1 page for a fight, he decided to pull a "I've been only pretending to be weak", making the main characters take damages for an amount of panel and change the situation once the bad guy does final attack on the MC who stop it easily in a "cool way".
He repeated this for at least 100 chap, until the the final boss of the arc who was actually powerful.
