How would you welcome a Star Wars serie of OVAs made by Sunrise

I think it would be interesting if they made one from a squadrons point of view who's job it is to hunt down Wedge Antilles and the rest of Rogue Squadron, maybe have Luke do cameos on some of the bigger missions etc. Have the Imperials get thrashed constantly and lose a lot of men, but it would have to be done well as to humanize them. Make them people, not just Imperial soldiers.

So, did Rogue Squadron 2 and 3 completely lie to me about how weak TIE Fighters are? In those games, they were taken out in one hit, like pieces of paper glued together. I figured that the Empire just relied on overwhelming numbers for dogfights, a reflection of how little they cared for their faceless pilots. But this short, and maybe the existence of that TIE Fighter game I never played, implies that X-Wings and TIE Fighters are evenly matched?

They really aren't. TIEs have no hyperdrive and generally no shields either.

TIE Fighters were shit but they were very maneuverable. They didn't even have shields.

In the side materials TIE fighters are usually depicted as being crap, but in the films they actually trade evenly with Alliance fighters.

In the MSDOS flight sim games, a regular TIE could take a hit or two depending where your shots hit, how many shots hit at once, or how charged your shots were. For instance, diverting all cannon power into your ship's shields would pretty much half your damage output for a short while if you wanted to charge them back up quick, although with things like X-Wings and B-Wings you can fire all cannons at once to mitigate that.

Still, TIE Fighters were weak as balls even in their own game. However you used other TIE units as well, such as the Interceptor or Advanced.

I meant when the cannon charge was completely dumped/transferred into shield energy, leaving empty cannon gauges or very little remaining charge. Before the cannon charge reaches 50%, when the ticks start to show up in the cannon gauges, they won't hit as hard and they'll sound a bit wimpy compared to how they normally are. The difference is pretty noticeable with A-Wings since they don't have a whole lot of cannon charge to work with, even with topped off gauges.

Considering the name structure too, it would appear that the letters refer to where they're stationed (ie. DS = Death Star), 161 = 161st Fighter Wing, 2 = The pilots assigned number?

Just got back from seeing it. Everything Abrams claimed about wanting to avoid from the Prequel Trilogy was bullshit, I don't think it was a bad movie but it wasn't that great either.

The sequels would be better if clone Anakin was there to play a Quattro role.
