The OVA's problem is that it isn't bad enough. Mainly on account of being aware of how afwul it is and trying to frame itself slightly ironically. The Manga is brilliant because you seriously can't tell if it's an elaborate parody or if the author is literally insane. It's so bad it changed how I view badness as a concept. I'm not even kidding, it's kind of zen actually.

I prefer the later version where the delinquent friend is such a huge flaming homo for balding honoberu samurai MC and the minnie mouse glove wearing bitch is a bad guy instead of a damsel in distress.
