I like the Rebuild designs. Their proportions are much more feral than the gladiatorial proportions of the TV EVA units.

Apparently you don't. A toros is the entire region from the chest to the abdomen. Series 01 has an overall wider torso and a more jacked body

Which goes against what you're trying to argue considering that the TV designs are only thick in the pectorals and quickly descend into Gothicmade territory.

I think they made them thinner to look more organic. Also you can have more versatility during sequences of action and excitement.
