Is there ANYONE in the anime industry that /m/ doesn't consider a hack?
>>
>>13491796
Yeah, but no matter what or who you say, people like to whine.

People who like whining are very eager to loudly do so at every possible opportunity.
>>
No. Next question.

I wasn't aware a few loud shitposters was considered the whole of /m/. When did that happen?

Yes, the once in a generation genius that is Tomino

Imagawa.

A lot of low-profile anime directors.

Old Gonzo's CGI department.

Without those crazy nignogs you wouldn't even have your Orange to masturbate to.

I'm still waiting for the inevitable shitposters that will storm this thread and tell everyone how each person they chose is a hack, which will result in endless shitflinging and sore asses..

Brilliant bait thread, OP.

Imagawa, he is the best in my book.
Tomino is the biggest hack
Anno is a hack
Sato is a hack
Fukuda is the biggest biggest hack
Kawamori is a hack
Obari is a pretty cool guy

Goro Taniguchi is the only non-hack in anime

Fukuda. We just think he's terrible.
>>
>>13492032
>Tomino is the biggest hack
I'm not a fan of Tomino but he's clearly is full with ideas and he made many different shows. Anno did different shows too, he's so far from a hack.
>>
>>13492207
>he's clearly is full with ideas
bad ideas
>he made many different shows
and a good number of them are meh or shitty , especially the older he got.

but really i liked both directors works but it doesn't mean they aren't hacks NOW. or really just past their prime, especially with tomino, he should retire already.
>>
>>13492226
>bad ideas
>and a good number of them are meh or shitty
This doesn't make him a hack.

In big names? Probably Dezaki

But 99% of /m/ hasn't seen anything of his besides Rose of Versailles and MAYBE Aim For The Ace

I like Kawagoe. He may not be Imagawa, but he's fine substitute.
>>
>>13493013
To be fair he's first and foremost an animator. Not every singer can compose.
>>
>>13491796

/m/ loves Obari with a ferocity that transcends language.

Or maybe that is just the SRWfags.
>>
>>13492313
Fuck you you little prick, both Cobra and the Midnight Eye Goku OVAs are some of the best /m/ stuff ever made.

When can the Imagawa hate start? He's by far the most overrated mecha director on the internet.
>>
>>13493287
Get it started yourself. Just talk about why you think he's bad at every good opportunity, and you're bound to eventually have some people realize it. I'm not saying to shitpost, by the way. Just legitimately tell and explain to people why you find him overrated.
>>
Me
>>
>>13492095
This what an asshat
>>
>>13493287
That's not how you spell Miyazaki.
>>
>>13491988
This. As soon as someone recognizes the name, someone will say they are overrated. It's why the most recognized names (Okada, Urobuchi, Tomino) get the bulk of shitposting. Shitposters have no grasp on quality, on knowledge of the industry, and no sense of history, they only react to what their pitifully limited experience lets them recognize.

It's completely fucking pathetic.
>>
>>13493071
>making relevant social and political commentary
you mean WAR IS BAD over and over is somehow fresh and new? and japanese imperialism is bad over and over is a fresh theme amirite? maybe when he first did it but it honestly feels like recycles the same message and the same journeys and the same characters. He was once talented but now he has lost his spark, good ideas, poor execution. he really isn't a hack but really overrated
>>
>>13493300
You're a hack too, faggot.
>>
>>13493064

This is the board that hasn't even seen all of Gundam, are you REALLY surprised that not everyone has seen Cobra?

Also for some retarded reason I forgot it was him
>>
>>13493299
I do, but people always refute with muh ironic melodrama
>>
>>13493450
>and japanese imperialism is bad over and over is a fresh theme amirite?
That was only present in Mobile Suit Gundam. It doesn't appear anywhere in Zeta or his other anime.

I don't think I've ever seen /m/ talk shit about Ikuhara, Dezaki, Imagawa.

But Ikuni never made a Schell Bullet anime, the bastard.
>>
>>13494087
>I don't think I've ever seen /m/ talk shit about Ikuhara

A lot of people didn't like YuriKuma, and in fairness it's probably his weakest show by a longshot

>Dezaki

For one, he was basically the first big-name director in anime history

Secondly, the man was a fucking genius. He basically never had a bad show, he was that brilliant of a director, and a lot of the success of his shows is from the fact that he pretty much forced full creative control into his hands.

>Imagawa

It's there, but it's mostly recent
>>
>>13493355

Don't you mean Mee-uh-ZOK-ee?
>>
>>13494087
I remember he said in some interview that no one really wanted to invest in it for an anime, since the novel and designs were just a pilot for an anime, so both he and Nagano lost interest.

Most of his later works.
>>
>>13491796
More importantly. Is there anyone in the anime industry that isn't a hack?
>>
>>13494102
Penguindrum was pretty cool during the first half but it felt apart on the second half. YKA was never good.

Anyway, sometimes I think Miyazaki was right. In The Wind rises, the Italian count who met Jiro on his dreams said creative people had a 10 years prime, more or less, and then they're done.
>>
>>13494430
>creative people had a 10 years prime, more or less, and then they're done

Could it also be that whenever a creator makes something, expectations for subsequent creations get higher and higher until an impossible standard is reached?
>>
>>13494559
Yes. But also, this is 4chan, where you're expected to be godly perfect or you're utter shit.
>>
>>13494430
>Italian count who met Jiro on his dreams said creative people had a 10 years prime, more or less, and then they're done
That's Japanese bullshit because they work like slaves and loose creativity because of mental and physical exhausting. But actually not all of them of course.
>>
>>13494430
>In The Wind rises, the Italian count who met Jiro on his dreams said creative people had a 10 years prime, more or less, and then they're done.

I don;t think that's true. There are a lot of film directors from the old days who made good movies for decades.
>>
>>13494430
>In The Wind rises, the Italian count who met Jiro on his dreams said creative people had a 10 years prime, more or less, and then they're done.

I'll bet Takahata laughed his ass off when he read that.
>>
>>13495391
Name one.
>>
>>13495417
Why? He hasn't made anything even halfway decent in the last 25 years.

Scorsese.

Kubrick when alive.
>>
>>13494102
I never got around to watching YuriKuma. Looked like... an Ikuni anime, honestly.

The only Dezaki project I remember not liking was Sword of the Truth, which seemed more like a pilot than anything. Everything else I've seen of his is brilliant work. I don't think anyone's going to be able to top his Black Jack OVAs.

>>13494213
That's a shame. I can't really blame nobody wanting to do it, though. Didn't the Utena movie really underpreform?
