And most of the times Aida is listening. Like when her father meets with Dorette and Mashner, or when the Captain of the Crescent Ship and La Gu explain to her how things really are.
Aida is just a more active girl, and her relationship with Bellri is thought so one of the two can compensate where the other lacks. That can't be said for Mikazuki and Kudelia, where Kudelia is just the weak and Mikazuki is the awesome guy.

For starters because she is not a peace princess. In case you forgot, she is the one leading the attack to Capital Tower's Nut in the first episode, and she never said "please, don't kill the poor enemy!!!". She even tells her brother to go wild because she realizes he can't keep getting away with just disarming the enemy.
And when she tried to stop a battle was because her father's plan was derailing and the whole conflict was going to end VERY BAD if nobody tried to put a stop to it. But she didn't stop or complain with Raraiya and Noredo for killing God knows how many people in that ship.
So all that is already a HUGE step from your usual peace princess.
I also think it is better than your average peace princess because peace princesses usually don't change ideas during the series. They might gain some knowledge and insight, grow a bit, become tougher, but they still are peace princesses. With Aida instead it is the opposite. She hated Bellri and she learns how to appreaciate him in the first half and she was fighting for her dad, but she does a 180 after learning the truth on Venus Globe.
I also like what Tomino had to say with her character to young people and I think she is a nice addition to families 'studied' by Tomino in his anime in these 40 years he has worked in the industry.

I would also add the fact that not every scene she was in was aimed to point out she was useless or naive, unlike Kudelia.

Eh, Aida actually got better as her show went on, she consistently landed hits (albeit against beam shield wielding or heavily armored opponents), she played an integral part in suppressing the Yggridsal's Tender Beam, and held her own against the G-rach in a lower orbit battle. Then she becomes a good will ambassador aboard the Crescent moon ship at the show's end. The results of her tenure as such are unknown, though she was complicit in a murder attempt on the president of her on country.......

Kudelia seems like a decent chick for a gundam princess she isn't psychotic (Relena), doesn't have brother issues (Sayla, Aida?), and helps funds the Tekkaden's escape with cash money. She is a lobbyist and an advocate. She does come off as a little naive but hopefully she'll grow into a interesting character as the show progresses

and she totally has a group of knights protecting her, we can't stress that point enough

Aida is a poorly developed character who suffers from G-Reco's short running time.

After the initial skirmish in which the 1st company wanted to scapegoat them, the boys decided to mutiny.

That's the first turning point of the entire story.

Hell, in practice the plot already starts by describing how things are before the event, that triggers the rest of the story to take place. Because it's important to see how the characters positions changed from when they started out.

And if the story is really about something completely different entirely, then the groundwork for that has already been laid too. Even if it's something unrelated to the current events (which I highly doubt).

Especially modern storytelling doesn't have to be "A goes to B and becomes C". There are films where a character doesn't develop one single bit, but it's still a fascinating journey for a different reason.
