How do they decide what gets into a SRW? It can't be related to how difficult the setting is to shoehorn in. If they want it in there they can bend the setting as far as they need to fit it in.

1. The standard SRW fare. What the need to keep the regular fanbase coming.

2. Stuff the staff really wants to get in, like Gargantia in Z3.

3. Stuff the suits really want to promote, like Seed in Alpha 3.

Someone mentioned recently that shows usually get SRW exposure when they've got a new model or figure coming out. Ex, Dunbine being ignored for almost a decade and then being in UX OE and BX once they started getting Robot Spirits figures.

A lot of it depends on what Bandai-Namco has the rights to, and what they can negotiate the rights to without breaking the bank. New shows that will sell copies usually get prioritized, that's why SEED got hastily shoved into Alpha 3. Ditto Gargantia for Z3 >>13476338. Stuff that's cheap and which makes ideal game filler for both units and story will usually come back several times in a row, that's why long stretches of games have nothing but Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz and Dancouga Nova. No Magical Knights Rayearth because CLAMP don't want them in these games, same goes for Nagano on The Five Star Stories (that and he's still pissed about how they accidentally mixed up a L-Gaim grunt design with a FFS design and put it in a game by mistake). Some of it comes down to whatever Terada or the development team feel like including this time, that's how we got VOTOMS in Z2, Megazone 23 in D and Iczer 1 in L.
