/v/ here
I would like to become a better writer and I heard somewhere that to become a better writer I should read more. So I started that. I'm looking for actual decent books on writing though. Maybe something about grammar and stuff. /v/ is shitpost central and I can't ask them something like this. Please help a retarded /v/ poster better himself, /lit/.

...maybe you need a grammar book?

I think you're right. I just don't even know where to look or what would be considered good. Like a text book?

Can you find stuff like this at a local library?

Elements of Style is basic. University 101 or 201 courses online are usually available as well as some lectures on youtube if that's your thing.
But yeah. Just read a lot and understand punctuation/grammar.

I just ordered Elements of Style on Amazon. Hopefully it helps.
Do you know of any good free online courses? I'm kind of strapped for cash right now

look it up nigga. You have the internet.
Elements of Style should be an online pdf for free too. There are plenty of free online courses for many universities, though realistically plenty are just analysis and writing on novels rather than the fundementals of actual writing.
Best way to get better is practice. Just write every day for a few hours.

Alright. Sorry for all the dumb questions.
