why doesn't anyone talk about this book? It's better than most of dosto's other memes tbqh
Because it's shit

It's the only work of his that I've dropped. Everything else I've read was good to great.

Why didn't you like it?

It's been a long time and I read it as a teen. I remember it presenting a lot of events and imagery but I didn't understand what the point of any of it was. A book can show something messed up but I need more substance than that. Also I remember there being not much dialogue which is something I think he excels at.

I have a patrician translation of this book, but I still haven't read it. I feel like it'll be underwhelming and perhaps difficult.
Lets be real, the top tier are CaP, BK and Underground. The first two are extra popular but they live up to their name. Idiot is also popular but it doesn't live up to it's name. Underground is less known (probably because it's just... not for females, lets be real) but is perhaps same tier as the first two.
Everything else is just underwhelming and therefore unpopular.
Nothing is actually bad by Dostoevsky, but I don't think you'll be reading anything if you've read CaP and BK already and your standards are set to a high level.
