What are you interested in? From/about what period? And in what topic? War? High society? Adventure? Emotional drama? Humour? History?

Personally I like Bleak House or David Copperfield by Charles Dickens for their rich plots, Henry Rider Haggard (She, King Solomon's Mines) for the derring-do and adventure, Mark Twain (Life on the Mississippi, Roughing It) for the humour. Read Jane Austen or Emily Bronte (Wuthering Heights) for society and drama.
