From whence does consciousness arise?
Why wasn't I born a cute girl with nice titties?
does free will exist
>>9968556
Short answer: yes
Long answer: no, but the totality of the electrochemical reactions responsible for your consciousness is so buttfuckingly high resolution and complex that you might as well have total free will outside of any childhood trauma and mental disabilities
Why?
Do you want fries with that?

>>9968662
The question that has plagued philosophy majors for centuries.
How does life work at a cellular level, and how can its function be abstracted into the form of differential equations?
>>9968888
Do you think it will ever be possible for us to observe abstract thought through equations?
>>9968983
God help us if we do. Philosophy is, in the hands of the psychopaths who permanently plague all civilizations, the means to brutal despotism. And despotism based on an objective understanding of consciousness could be the thing that extinguishes humanity for good.
The final redpill is realizing that pure facts and reason are rarely conducive to the well being of mankind.

What does it mean to be a good person, and why should I be one?
>>9967121
A shower?
>>9972364
You shouldn't need a motive to be virtuous. Being good is the motive.
>>9972411
Well, yeah, my reasoning is mostly the same. We all have a limited amount of time in this existence, so why not make the most of it and help others do the same? Why not be good and help others simply because you can?
I myself am driven by that same motive; doing good for goodness's sake, but I still need unbiased opinion as to the reason why, simply because I want to convince others to do so.
