I'm going for a trip up in the northeastern Canadian wilderness. Don't get me wrong, it's at a cabin like resort.
Can you recommend me something comfy to read?
C-can I join you?
We'll swap with who is the boitoy and who reads to the other each night. I promise.

Sorry, friend, going up with my ol' lady. She wouldn't want me cuddling with anyone but her.

Not a bad suggestion, anon. Thanks.
I think Ada takes place in a fictional version of north east Quebec. It doesn't have much to do with the real place but still its a cool read.
The Wendigo-Algernon Blackwood
The Golden Spruce. It's NF and it has more to do with the Canadian West but it's great
Also, I Heard the Owl Call my Name
i've been 2 hours north of montreal a few times to go hiking with my uni group and one of my friends does it regularly. it's really fantastic, and i recommend you seek out high points like the one in your picture. I think i might've been there desu
don't underestimate how cold it will be, but you might be able to swim if it's warm enough.
maybe consider some murakami. i know that A Wild Sheep Chase has a rural and mountainous setting (in Japan).
