Take up reading. You're going to be doing a lot of it. You might dedicate some amount of time to the Stoic thinkers given your situation. It's nowhere near as bad as losing control of my body, but I have a chronic illness that leaves me bedridden most of the day, in constant pain, and suffering from vision/memory problems that make reading difficult. What I do is actively look for new shit that's enjoyable or pleasurable in my situation, without reminiscing on how good things used to be and how bad it is that I can't do the things I used to. Just looking out the window and seeing the sunset is enough sometimes. I try to focus on how much more beautiful and significant my mind and the world around me are compared to what's happening to my body. Studying Gnosticism helped immensely, with the central ideas of escape and transcendence. Also helps not to alienate your friends and family (no matter how tempting) since you always need that support.
