Hey /lit/. I've just finished As I Lay Dying and before that about a month ago I also finished The Sound and The Fury. Though I thoroughly enjoyed both works I didn't feel like they were the pinnacle that Faulkner could achieve if that makes sense. They were both good novels, but not necessarily great novels. I was wondering if any of you thought that Faulkner has a quintessential novel other than those two. I'm ready to give Absalom! Absalom! a go soon and I'm wondering perhaps is this his best work, but I've heard that other than the works I've already mentioned and Light In August, none of Faulkner's works can really compare. I guess what I'm asking what in your eyes is Faulkner's greatest novel, and if I currently feel this way about the man is it worth reading the rest of his work?
