Are Death In Venice and The Magic Mountain Mann's worthwhile reads?

the magic mountain is an admittedly boring and dry 5/10 until the ending, and then it becomes an 8/10
The Magic Mountain is probably the greatest bildungsroman of all time.

entry level Mann; Stories (Death in Venice etc.) -> Buddenbrooks
advanced: Magic Mountain -> Joseph and his Brothers
endlevel: Dr. Faustus
go this order - thank me l8er
Mann imo is the best prose stylist to ever do it and all the listed works are masterpieces (admittetly I read them in german, don't know about translation, I'd imagine it's pretty hard tho)

Nah, who the fuck wants to read aboutMahler?
Death In Venice is rather short, so just try it out.
The Magic Mountain is an incredible book, changed my whole perception of life.
But I will admit that it can be described with "boring and dry" at times.
I thought some parts of magic mountain were amazing. It does feel really long when you read it though.
