I finished 1984.
I had already lost hope for humanity, now I went further to the abyss. This book has things that I already realized for myself. Ideas that I already knew but I never put them into words. But torture was something that I never realized why it was implemented, and now I know why. I was shocked.
Anyway, what are your opinions about it?
1984 is based, but it's basically Culture of Critique wrapped up in a pretty story for normies.

I have to read BNW. In 1984, the part of why they implement torture was the only part that made me sick. You say that BNW is far worse?

The best books are the ones who teach us things we already know

Ye. It's just something that tantalized you wish a hope that things to get better only to completely rip it away. 1984 there's still the sense that something could change, even if it's unlikely to succeed the door isn't entirely closed. BNW just snuffs out hope in a complete and total way.
is this book on the curriculum for summer homework or something? there have been dozens of threads about it recently that amount to nothing more than the OP asking for opinions they can pretend are their own

Actually, I just read it because I'm only reading classic book for now.
