What do you recommend for starter poetry? Someting not extremely hard but at the same type culturally important. The equivalent of lit's starter kit for novels
I started with rimbaud, emily dickinson, blake and the lovesong of prufrock.
I'd suggest reading them online though.

I would say Blake is a good start because he has a lot of shorter poems that you can power through. Always felt bad for my man Prufrock.

I'd recommend this one. it comes with an introductionary essay about reading poetry, and many commentaries.

Yeah starting with an anthology or collection is probably a good idea.
I like the norton anthologies of english and american literature for their poetry.
You could get them all for ~$30 used and they contain pretty much all of the major poets.
