Early Modern for sure. If you really want to brush up on your Aristotle via Aquinas, go for it. But I'd head right into Descartes if I were you.

Read a decent overview of medieval philosophy, you'll never get through the works themselves. Even though I think Anselm is a cool read.

My plan is Anselm and Boethius, then Aquinas, then Descartes. I already looked at the Stoics when I was a student, and theirs was a simple enough system that I don't feel the need to brush up on it.
