I am judging a book by it's cover and the premise seems interesting but some of the people on Goodreads said it's really not good.
I checked it out at work (BN) so I have two weeks to read it but idk brehs. idk

unironically ask reddit. i mean this as an insult and display of my erudition of course, but /r/ books is also more likely to give you a helpful response than /lit/ which reads almost exclusively canon works ie not contemporary

Negative/neutral Goodreads reviews can be useful for the criticisms leveled. (Of course, negative reviews on classics are potato.)
