I started reading the Summa Theologica (GBWW edition) and it really surprises my how readable it is. To be honest, some of it requires a dictionary as there's not enough in the context to fully define some complex terminology, but for the most part it's really well put together.
Here's how it's set up
I. Positive or negative statement about the topic
Objection 1
Objection 2
Objection 3
II. Response from the author affirming or denying the original
Response to Objection 1
Response to Objection 2
Response to Objection 3
The entire book is like that. It's pretty awesome actually. I wish more theological and philosophical works were set up this well.
Friendly reminder that Aquinas proved nothing.
Isn't that like 5 volumes? Are you reading an abridged version? Are we allowed to do that? I want to Maneuver through the Medievals but I don't know if I want to commit to so much.
