It is good for reading about bands that you had no prior history of. But otherwise I'd leave it alone considering your experience. Its an interesting read but nothing you probably won't already know.

This is also very good, if a bit more brainier (not necessarily smarter) than Azerrad's book on American indie. To his credit, Reynolds notes that Americans were doing what the English would later call "post-punk" as early as mid-70s.
