Thinking of getting in to this series. I've heard so many mixed opinions. Red pill me on it?
Even for genre fiction it's awful.

>He thinks Literary Fiction isn't a genre
its good despite being generic "muh hero vs evil world ending villain" fantasy
I enjoyed books 1-3, disliked 4, love/hated 5, and got really bored after that, up until Confessor, which was a decent end....don't read any of the ones after that for sure.
Warnings:
There is a LOT of dialog repetition and rehashing of past events, especially in the later volumes.
If you hate Ayn Rand, you won't like this series.

Or if you enjoy character development or passable plots or non-cringeworthy prose.
Goodreads (i know) said it best:
"Day One:
Richard: "Kahlen, now that we just met, we're the bestestest friends aren't we?"
Kahlen: "We sure are."
Day Two:
Richard: "Kahlen, we're the bestestest of friends and I would give my life for you even though we just met."
Kahlen: "Me too!"
Day Three:
Richard: "Kahlen, I love you more than life itself. What? It's only been three days? Well, that still seems sensible."
Kahlen: "My sentiments exactly!"
Days Four through 20:
Richard: "Love, love, love."
Kahlen: "I love you, but we can never be together ever because of the magic."
Days 21 through 30:
Random Mord Sith comes in out of nowhere."
Psychotic lesbians in a skin tight leather suit torturing you with a magical dildo--of pain!
Start with Wizard's First Rule. This will be the GoT of the 2030s.
