If the original Star Wars movies were published today as a trilogy of books, would they fall into the Young Adult Dystopia genre?
Yes.
Switch luke and leia's roles in the story and itd be a best seller and get a crappy movie adaptation

Interesting question.

This is what would happen (has happened?), but if we look at what the release of Star Wars as a book in 1977 would have probably led to, it would have been much less interesting than the same story as a movie. Maybe, just maybe, it might have led to a Harry Potter style series, but who knows?
No, because they're not Dystopias, they're some sort of space romance opera bullshit
Young Adult? Absolutely. Dystopia? No. It would be YA sci-fi, like the Ender series.

Original trilogy has us seeing
>Alderaan (a prosperous and rebellious civilian planet) blown up
>Tatooine (lawless)
>Hoth (wasteland)
>Bespin (oligarchy)
>Dagobah (wild)
>the moon of Endor (savage)
>Death Star I and II

Technically yes but intuitively no and I'm going with that.
