So, let's say I'm going to read 50 pages everyday.
What will my bookshelf look like in a year from now? Also is 50 pages still too few pages? For example, how ma y pages do scholars read every day? I know it's a generic answer, but a range will do it: is it hundreds? Thousands?
Finally, will reading automatically boost my eloquence and lexicon? And is there a "right" way to read?
I read about 300 pages a day, the trick is to not waste your time reading on the internet
Every poster on lit is required to read at least 1500 pages per day, please cease posting immediately until you are up to our level.

Although I've talked about 50 pages everyday, that is a very modest estimate. In the last 2 days I've read 330 pages (still not as much as you, I guess), simply by limiting radically my time on 4chan. I genuinely hope I'll be able to mamtain this pace. By the way, is 330 pages in 2 days good? It was Crime ans Punishment (the first 2 parts) and The Death of Ivan'Ilych (all of it).

Are there people out there who actially read 1500 pages everyday? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of reading.

>What will my bookshelf look like in a year from now?
The actual greatest works of all time, once you've cleared the rubble of the most commonly recommend works.
>Also is 50 pages still too few pages?
Yes. Scholars and most intellectuals can get through about 300 pages per day of thick texts, and can finish any sci-fi/fantasy books (which generally have looser printing) in fractions of days.
>Finally, will reading automatically boost my eloquence and lexicon?
No.
>And is there a "right" way to read?
Yes.
