He is one of the greatest thinkers of the modern era, if not the sole beacon of hope for humanity.

I can't really disagree that society would be better off without the dehumanizing nature of technology but like... I like my computer.

Pretty much this. At the end of Vonnegut's Player Piano, after they lead a small revolution, a bunch of their crew are looking at an old vending machine or something trying to figure out ways to get it to work and improve it, and the main characters go off and surrender.
