>the middle school/high school is putting on a production of Romeo and Juliet as the school play
>episode is about the main character having to kiss a girl on the lips
Did middle schools/high schools actually do this?

Put on productions where characters kiss? Yes, all the time.
>>9761607
Yea, that's how I got laid in 3rd grade.

Not only does this happen regularly, but you get much more awkward circumstances that arise out of it:
-Having to kiss your ex
-Having to kiss your best friend's girlfriend
-Having to kiss someone you're totally repulsed by
All three of these happened to me in four years of high school theatre productions.

I should also mention: It's not like you're ever making out with the person, and in many situations it can be faked (head turn, kiss at the dimple sort of deal) but at least at my school we were generally encouraged to suck it up and play it out to make the scene believable.
Yes, its common
I was Gaston in our school's Beauty and the Beast production and they just had me place my hand by Belle's mouth to make it look as though I really kissed her but without actually doing it.
I think our school just wasn't allowed.
I have LOTS of cringy/weird stories about my acting experiences in high school.

Yes.
Let me guess you have some SJW plan to shield kids from this experience too

I read about a girl in college who auditioned to be in Pygmalion and it required her to be nude.

My school did a contemporary rendition of Romeo & Juliet and Juliet twerked on Romeo's dick for about half an hour before recreating scenes from the front page of Pornhub. It was all very tasteful.

Same
What is it with spergs and theatre?

You clearly don't know what an SJW is. I'm from a small town in the rust belt. Now, fortunately they were able to teach evolution, but if the theater teacher put on a play that involved kissing they probably would have been fired.

Really because I'm from a small town in the rust belt and everyone here would think it was cute.

I've no clue.
Our Maurice in the musical was the shadow of the original one because the other had broke his leg so we thought it was okay.
The show was approaching and whenever we rehearsed and sang he would just cough and say his throats hurts
Play dates come around and we're really curious about his singing. His acting is pretty stale and robotic but we thought his voice was alright for the role (he was a tenor)
Holy shit. He just talked the lyrics and was so quiet nobody heard him. Then, when he was supposed to ride the bike thing he made, he fell. Worst thing I've ever seen, was hard to pick back up the scene and the show after that.

It always feels like the worst thing on Earth when a theatrical production goes wrong. At least I think so. It feels like the actual world is ending.

containment club
and god forbid you go on a theatre field trip and get to sit through all of Rent (and at this point, hamilton i guess) as performed by your horny retard classmates
>>9762257
Your post confuses me. Why would you go on a field trip to see classmates ? Wouldn't you be going with your classmates
We went to NYC a couple of times to see shows and the cringe was kept low.
But oh my god, SHREK the musical was the weirdest, worst, most uncomfortable show I suffered through. We watched it then performed it
Very common.
I'm glad to know there's a lot of other ex-theatre kids on /lit/
