>have nothing to do in my government job
>just sit and read books on the computer
>done more reading than ever
>literally being paid to read
The government saw my patrician potential so they pay me to read in order to take advantage of the power within these old books. Probably the Prime Minister herself ordered my coworkers to not even distract me by socialising with me.

I envy you guys. I sincerely cannot fathom with all the meaning and deep insight into the human condition that my professional activity as a physician entails. It is a burden. If only I could gain the theoretical insight into these matters afforded by literature, I could grasp onto that romanticized distortion and keep my illusions about the big topics. But, alas, I was weak and followed in the footsteps of my ancestors. I don't belong here. I will never be able to finish the Western Canon due to work commitments. I will never be Fernando Pessoa.
