I want to improve my attention span (which is really short), which book would you recommend me for a start? I value those that can grant me some insight into life, how can I be more efficient or just better in dealing with it, so recommending me something simple yet effective would be the best choice

More than reading any book, I would recommend just cutting down on your Internet time.

It's not that I browse Facebook or Youtube, I just get carried away with my thoughts too many times. I like that but I sure do lack discipline, so yeah. I have to work on that.

I heard In Search of Lost Time is a good book for that issue.

You don't hone a skill by reading about it, you do it incrementally and develop it.
I actually lengthened my attention span dramatically by reading a lot of genre shit and short stories for long periods of time. I read The Illustrated Man and Murakami's short stories to get into the habit of reading things to completion, then read accessible novellas like The Stranger, Slaughterhouse 5, etc. then regular novels and classic shit.
Now I can be bored slogging through some bullshit and still maintain a solid reading pace because I've trained my mind to read with minimal effort.
Also it helps that I grew up with no internet access
