read richard brautigan. it's all short chapters and mostly jokes that comprise of sad thoughts. sombrero fallout is all about being too distracted because your jap gf left you to realise the world is ending and the story goes on without you. you might be able to read that.
If your thoughts keep distracting you, you might not be focusing on what you are reading enough. Try speed-reading. It's not about being a fast reader or something. But if you can learn to stop sub-vocalizing everything and read quicker you get bored and distracted less.
>You are not depressed, you are just using that as an excuse

Yeah, you'll definitely not think about sex more if you don't masturbate

Read sad things so that the sad thoughts are not your own.

This x 1000
I used to read every word phonetically in my head, it's such a slow and boring way to read.
Started reading faster as to not allow phonetics, now I don't have time to daydream while reading because I'm knees deep in a "scene".

Any tips for this? I feel like speed-reading doesn't give me enough time to fully process things. Sometimes I'll sit on a paragraph for about 5 minutes, just thinking it all through in my head.
