Its a really compelling book with believable characters with real problems. Why are you so scared of something genuine?

Nonsense. All of the characters in Woolf's novels are ridiculously self-conscious, paranoid, and unstable. Virginia Woolf had no gift for character or plot, even her "normal" characters act bipolar. None of the characters are really differentiated by their character: excepting Septimus, all of their thoughts are the same in tone. No character stands out. You do not feel that you are really reading the thoughts of an actual character, but the thoughts of Virginia Woolf.
you, a plebe: the characters are ridiculously self-conscious, paranoid, and unstable, 0/10
me, a patrician: the characters are ridiculously self-conscious, paranoid, and unstable, 10/10
