My Father has all these Pynchon novels but when I obviously asked him wether he has also read "Gravity's Rainbow" he solemnly stated he never even considered picking it up.
Is this some joke that I as a non-Pynchon reader don't get or what did he mean by this?

>is this some joke
yes
t. expert on your dad
He probably was never into the literal shit eating scenes and child molestation in it I'm afraid...
>>9718523
>having a dad that reads Pynchon
>let alone having a dad that reads
I envy you anon

>Implying those aren't the best parts
>>9718523
you just got pynch'd by your own papa
>>9718523
I doubt it's a joke. I've read most of the Pynch's books but still haven't read Gravity's Rainbow. However I have considered picking it up a couple of times. I've just never been in the mood for it.

Pretty darn zany!
>>9718624
It does feel like homework.

Your father is Thomas Pynchon.
>>9718523
he knows...
i wonder if your dad is ashamed of you
he probably is
Ask him if he ever did the Kenosha Kid.

he's memeing on yo ass
there's a part at the end of the Gravity's Rainbow where Pynchon tells his reader to deny ever having read the book
it's a joke we Pynch fans who have actually read the Gravity's Rainbow sometimes share in the presence of nonreaders and low IQs
