Hi, I'm new here! Avid lover of modern poetry so excited to discuss. Ezra Pound's In 'The Metro of the Station' was the first modernist poem I ever read and it changed my life. "Petals on a wet black bough" is for me one of the most powerful ending lines within literature. What do you think?

I like that one but I think Milk and Honey is my favourite modern poetry. Have you read it?

Eliot all the way.

Eliot, Pound, H.D., etc were frauds and charlatans. Stevens and Williams are the only modern poets worth reading.

Did you just say HD to draw me out? If you like how Williams treats the images, and can enjoy ancient poetry, why would you have anything to hold against her?

i don't get his references desu so can only enjoy his work on a surface level but i honestly kept a book of his poems in my backpack for probably 6 months once and would take it out and read stanzas while working at a parking garage just for the way his images would put me in a trance
