My non-lit job is the primary source material for the book I'm writing. Honestly, the job is literally writing the book for me all I do is take notes during the day, then I go home and write.
Spend less time on /lit/ desu
I have a mentally demanding job, that (including transit time) takes up 12 hours per day, that I hate with a passion, but I've been able to get a lot of reading done the past few years. I start reading as soon as I can once I'm home, and read later than I should, which is fine since I've always been a 3-hours-at-best-a-night insomniac. I don't watch TV or play video games anymore, which helps. I also read while I'm taking a shit at work, on my lunch break, and on my two 15 minute breaks. The problem is writing. I am so stressed about reading, that I rarely get any writing done, even though that's what I want to do. I'm too mentally exhausted by the time I get off, and it's pretty upsetting. I'm trying to find time to do it more and more, but I'm usually always too tired to do anything creative these days, with the few hours of sleep a week I've been getting for the past 10 or so years. Thinking about quitting honestly.
