After reading Paulo's Alchemist, I feel like a new person. I generally prefer a rather simplistic way of life overall, and Paulo's simplistic way of writing ( I know the importance the translator plays) I kindly ask /lit of recommendations of books and writers similar to writings of Mr Coehlo . Thank you ^^

Felt the same after I'd read Schopenhauer's On Women and Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler (both German authors)

Seconding this. Siddartha was exactly what I liked in The Alchemist, but a lot more of it.

It's time to read East of Eden.
Paulo Coelho is a shame to my country
Please, forget that guy ever existed. We have so many great authors, Machado de Assis, Augusto dos Anjos, Cruz e Souza. Coelho is a pretentious retard, his writing has absolutely nothing to do with my country and language.

I don't think i'll ever change my mind for Coehlo but I will check the authors you mentioned , even though i would really appreciate specific book recommendations rather than authors themselves ^^
Thanks again fellow anons

I downloaded the ebook and read the entire thing after seeing your post op. I didn't like the book. thought the ending was cliche and gay. But the tornado scene was nice. i smoked another j when I saw it coming and I'm glad I did. I guessed I liked some of it
